Nursery

Hertford Infant and Nursery School has a wonderful pre-school nursery. This offers a great opportunity for children to be introduced into school life in a caring and nurturing setting. We have a trained teacher working in the nursery with a nursery nurse. The children can access the indoor and outdoor environment throughout the year.

The Nursery team plan with the whole school to ensure that progression of skills and learning is robust. There is a creative approach to learning which supports our school ethos. We work hard at enabling the children to become independent, to make their own choices and develop their own interests. Many will go on to attend the reception class with us which supports them in their transition to the next stage of their educational journey.

The Nursery forms part of our Early Years team and the children take part in many activities with the reception children and Year 1; there are shared events like the Christmas show where we work together. In addition to this we encouraged times when our Year 2 children come and read with Nursery children, building relationships over reading for pleasure. It has been so positive. Our Nursery children are very much a part of the whole school.

We have 15 hours provision for all children, running on a Monday- Wednesday morning, with an option to buy-in an afternoon session on a Wednesday. This is highlighted on the flyer attached.

We run a Breakfast club, from 8am and a wrap-around after school childcare, until 6pm so parents who are entitled to 30 hours provision can access this over 3 extended days here at Hertford.

Please contact us if you would like to visit!

You are so welcome.
